The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation is selected for the first time as the Charity Partner of the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016. The ten pageant finalists visited Princess Margaret Cancer Centre to gain significant knowledge on the top quality cancer treatments and care programs.

The Vice President of Business Development - Steve Merker and the Vice President of Community Programs for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation - Laura Syron welcome ten pageant finalists for this meaningful event and led them for a tour on the core sectors of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Steve Merker started a briefing on the operations of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre at atrium on the seventh floor, followed by a visit of Dr. Mak’s lab on the eighth floor. Dr. Mak’s lab focuses on “Immunotherapy”, Immunotherapy is a new treatment that stimulates the patient’s own immune system to fight cancer cells, and the Princess Margaret has the most comprehensive immunotherapy program in Canada.

Although Dr. Mak is unable to present, the finalists are happy to have the honor to visit his lab and experience the atmosphere of working in the laboratory on striking breakthroughs in crucial aspects of cancer. Next, the finalists follow radiotherapy staff’s footsteps to the basement, entering the half-foot-thick steel door into the radiation therapy room. Experiencing the radiotherapy environment surrounding with the professional equipments, the staff also detailed explained the process of radiation therapy and how the facility works. It broadens finalists’ eyes, the finalists are attentive and taking the initiative to ask questions, a valuable lesson indeed.

Then, finalists visit Wig Salon, a place specifically designed for chemotherapy patients suffering hair loss, providing fashionable wig, color hat and headcloth carefully designed base on patients need, to bring hope to patients and help regain their confidence. Lastly, the finalists visit the conference room and library on the eighteenth floor which is named by a kind cancer patient who passed away. The beautiful interior design with soft lighting, teak flooring, and elegant decorations created a very cozy feeling at the conference room, with the view overlooking the city through the window; it is nothing like the traditional conference room.

The ten finalists express that being a part of Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant is not only increasing their confidence and courage to face challenges, but also have the opportunity to learn from different areas; tour the top 5 cancer research centres in the world, and know more about the only comprehensive facility in Canada devoted exclusively to cancer research and patient care. Most anticipated and largest beauty pageant in Toronto Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 is going to be held on Friday November 18, 2016 at Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016 is organized by Fairchild TV and co-organized by Talentvision, Fairchild Radio and Popular Lifestyle Entertainment Magazine.Genuinely Beautifulis the slogan of the event this year; ten finalists had their first public appearance on October 19 at Angus Glen Golf Club.

After several rounds of auditions, the panel of judges carefully selected the ten finalists for Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016. The ten finalists started their journeys with a series of intensive trainings including pageant etiquette, public speaking, catwalk, skin care, makeup, choreography, image building, and etc. Having the complete makeover, the finalists will discover their own limitations and possibilities that lead them to their highest potential. They are working hard and pushing themselves everyday on any challenge to prep themselves into the best shape for the big day.

The latest promotional commercial premiere at the press conference, audience gets to see different looks of the ten finalists both in the commercials and in person. Each finalist had a quality time at Q & A section; showing their unique personality in front of the audience. They are beautiful from inside out. Each of them possesses with minimum university education, such as pharmacist, chiropractor, and some of them have modeling background or have huge talent on dancing and choreography. They come from different walks of life but yet have the same goal - that is vying for the coveted title of Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016.

This year the two overseas artists are Kenneth Chan and William Hu as guest MC and special guest performer. Kenneth Chan will partner with two local talented MC Leo Shiu and Qin Yi, together to create an exquisite beautiful evening at Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant 2016. The special guest performer William Hu also promised to bring to the audience an amazing evening on November 18.

Mr. Hong Kong Contest 2016 four out of the five awards won by Project Boyz Power (Toronto)

Karl Ting, Freeyon Chung and Christian Yeung were come from the Project Boyz Power (Toronto). Karl was in 1st Runner up and won Mr. Photogenic award in Mr. Hong Kong Contest; Freeyon was the 2nd Runner Up and Christian Yeung won Mr. Friendship.  They won four awards out of the five total award from the Mr. Hong Kong Contest.

Big congratulations again to the three boys.  Wish them all the best in their bright and promoising life ahead.

The Champion of 2016 Mr Hong Kong Contest was Jackson Lai with 44,420 votes from public viewers in Hong Kong; 1st Runner Up goes to Karl Ting, one of the finalists from Project Boyz Power (Toronto); he also won Mr. Photogenic Award; 2nd Runner Up Freeyon Chung also from Project Boyz Power (Toronto) and  Mr. Friendship goes to Christian Yeung; Christian is also from Project Boyz Power (Toronto). 

TVB Hong Kong unprecedently arranged the Champion, 1st Runner Up and 2nd Runner up of 2016 Mr Hong Kong and the crowning of 2016 Miss Hong Kong on the same evening on the same stage. And the title winners 100% voted by the public viewers in Hong Kong.    The final four of Miss Hong Kong consisted of Andrea So; she was the 1st Runner up in Vocalibre 2015, Toronto and Bonnie Chan who was the 1st Runner Up of 2013 Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant won the 2nd runner up of this year Miss Hong Kong.

Freeyon Chung, the Champion and Karl Ting, one of the finalists of Project Boyz Power (Toronto Final) went back to Hong Kong to participate in the Mr. Hong Kong 2016. Karl won “Mr. Photogenic” by unanimous vote of the panel of Judges.   After several rounds of competitions these two have successfully entered into the final round of four.  They will compete for the coveted title of Mr. Hong Kong on Sept 11 at the Miss Hong Kong Pageant Final.  Together audiences will witness the crowning of Miss Hong Kong and the birth of Mr. Hong Kong of 2016.  

 

Christian Yeung, who was the 1st runner up of Project Boyz Power (Toronto Final) also won the title of Mr. Friendship in the Mr. Hong Kong 2016. 

 

Freeyon has also won “The Best Performing” award in other occasions that held earlier and so did Karl Ting; he has won “The Most Popular” award.

THE MUSIC OF STRANGERS: YO-YO MA AND THE SILK ROAD ENSEMBLE  The film is directed by Morgan Neville, director of the Academy Award-Winning 20 Feet From Stardom. The film follows an extraordinary group of musicians who have come together to celebrate the universal power of music. The Silk Road Ensemble, an international collective created by acclaimed cellist Yo-Yo Ma, exemplifies music’s ability to blur geographical boundaries, blend disparate cultures and inspire hope for both artists and audiences.

Village Nissan is happy to present prizes to “The Most Charming Award” winner, Mason Yu.  He received a 48” TV from Village Nissan.  “The Most Charming Award” is one of the Awards presented to the winners at the “Project BoyZ Power”, organized by Fairchild TV and TVB from Hong Kong.  Village Nissan is one of their Diamond Sponsor as well as sponsor for “The Most Charming Award”.

After the prizes presentation, all winners are busy checking out the cars displayed.  They all find the GT-R attractive and their “Dream Car”.  Freeyon Chung, Champion of the “Project BoyZ Power” also checked out the Rogue, the Maxima, Altima, Murano and Sentra other than the Nismo GT-R.  “They are all nice, but since I am invited by TVB to go to Hong Kong for training and develop my career, I will be leaving Canada soon and will not need a car right now.  But I will work hard and save up for the GT-R,”  said Freeyon Chung who will be leaving for Hong Kong, along with Christian Yeung and Karl Ting, to be trained as the “Stars of Tomorrow”.
